Portland, OR (PRWEB) May 5, 2008 -- Routeware, a leader in the design and manufacture of hardware and software for the waste industry, announced today that Skip Berg has joined the company as Director of Business Development. Berg comes to Routeware with tremendous experience and accomplishment in both the waste industry and its major support organizations.

He has 35 years of industry experience, most recently as the National Sales Manager and Director of Business Development for the Labrie Environmental Group. Labrie is the largest independent manufacturer of equipment for the solid waste industry and, while there, Berg helped generate annual sales growth of about 20%. Prior to Labrie, Berg held sales, management and ownership positions in manufacturing, equipment distribution and leasing companies.

Berg has also served on the Board of Trustees (Founding Member) of WASTEC, Board of Trustees for DCA, and Board of Governors for EIA. In addition, he was a member of the ANSI Z245 Committee and serves on the working group for collection equipment (Z245.1). He taught Continuing Education classes in Recycling Certification at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. And he was the 2005 recipient of the Distinguished Service Award presented by the Environmental Industries Association.

At Routeware, Berg will be responsible for leading key national accounts, supporting the sales staff as needed and working with haulers and manufacturers to facilitate the integration of new technology. He will work directly with Routeware, VP-Sales, Dennis Keizer.

"Routeware is delighted to add Skip Berg to the team," said Routeware CEO Bob DeKoning. "Skip's ability and the trust he has built among both haulers and manufacturers will help make Routeware technology indispensable for profit, safety and sustainability."

For his part, Berg added, "I have always been a proponent of the right technology for the waste industry, and the waste industry needs Routeware."

Berg is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
